Andrea Dovizioso Says No To First 2019 Contract Renewal

MotoGP 2018 championship leader and 2017 runner-up Andrea Dovizioso who has been with Ducati since 2013 has recently rejected Ducati first contract extension offer. Dovizioso’s contract will end at the end of 2018 season and both Dovizioso and Ducati have been in negotiations.

In 2017, Dovizioso outshine his new team mate Jorge Lorenzo and finished 2nd behind reigning world champion Marc Marquez and emerge as 2018 championship leader with 1 point ahead of Marc Marquez after Texas round.

Dovizioso’s 2018 salary is now $7 million which place him at fourth highest salary in MotoGP. 3rd goes to his team mate Jorge Lorenzo at $8 million, 2nd goes to 9 times world champion Valentino Rossi at $10 million and highest paid goes to Marc Marquez at $11.5 million.
