What happens when you pair the ultra-iconic H-D Sportster silhouette with the brand’s latest Revolution Max engine? Well, you get the all-new 2022 Harley-Davidson Nightster, the next chapter in the H-D Sportster legacy.
While some hardcore enthusiasts might be sad, worry not as the Nightster represents, respects, and understands the Sportster’s legacy. It’s just gone through an inevitable evolution as we towards the future, which is why the Nightster is said to be more nimble and powerful than ever before.
This ‘Sport’ model from H-D offers the same forward riding position with mid-mount foot controls as to how you would normally find with the Sportster. Fans can also find other Sportster features like the airbox cover, wheels (19-inch front, 16-inch rear), and exposed dual rear shocks to help ease the transition.
Apart from those mentioned, the new 2022 H-D Nightster is anything but ‘old school’. Gone is the hoop-style frame as the brand has opted for the bike’s powertrain to be used as a stressed member. This means that the Nightster is stiffer yet lighter with better weight distribution to provide enhanced agility and power-to-weight ratio.
Weighing in at 211kg (kerb), the H-D Nightster is fitted with the latest 975cc Revolution Max 975T V-twin engine that produces 89hp @ 7,500rpm and 95Nm of torque. Other specs include 41mm Showa Dual Bending Valve conventional forks, a 4-inch analog instrument with segmented LCD, ABS, traction control, and drag-torque slip control.
The best part of all? It has an 11.7-litre fuel tank, but it’s not the one you see in front of the seat. That’s actually a dummy tank to house the airbox, the fuel tank is actually located under the seat and you need to lift it up to fill it up.
