Best road to ride, most corners, longest road to ride. Those were the common articles we came across in most motorcycle petrol heads website. What if that very weekend, the authorities is going all out to clamp down on illegal modified bikes or those with slight modifications to number plate? That very moment is today.

The authorities announced major crackdown recently and naturally, their targeted place is those frequent by bikers i.e. Genting Highlands in Malaysia. So, where can those who did not meet the requirements riders goes? The safest bet would be the city.

For city dwellers, we experienced sickening traffic congestion in the city and at times, even on your bike. However, Sunday morning would be a lovely time to ride into the city and explore places to hangout.

So, instead of riding to a trap at Genting Highlands today, I make a decision to explore the city. I entered the city as early as 8.00 a.m. and I guess many city dwellers are still on their bed, perhaps hang over from the party last night.

I rode pass Bukit Bintang, tearing the street up with my high decibel pipe (ops). I just love it when i rode pass under the urban rapid transportation mode they called the KL Monorail. The effects is same as what we get in the tunnel which only true petrol head will understand.

So, i rode along Jalan Sultan Ismail and turned into Sheraton Imperial for the 1st rendezvous with fellow rider at the famous Yut Kee Restaurant. After a hearty breakfast at Yut Kee, we take some wefie with our bikes and we split up.

It’s still early so I took a ride around the city. There were not much nice bend in the city since it has tons of cross roads and junction with traffic lights. The only nice corner I spotted was at the Bukit Bintang triangle; the u-turn from Jalan Raja Chulan to Jalan Bukit Bintang just beside Pavillion. That is a smooth corner which if you dare, you could knee down if you are not concerned of going under the Rapid KL Bus.

After Bukit Bintang, I rode around KLCC and took photo with Citibank in the background. (Thats because our office is located in Menara Citibank!). So for those who prefer halal breakfast, you can ride further down to NZ, a mamak stall frequent by many bikers during weekdays. Or Pelita just a stone throw away.

Since it’s still early, I decided to stop by Starbucks at Avenue K and have a sip of my morning Java Chip, reading some property magazine on a comfy sofa while I enjoy the moment where passer by snap photo of my bike.

Overall, I enjoyed my ride. Just one setback, the engine heat from my Kawasaki 636 in between my legs is not fun. Perhaps I should try with an easy rider or a cafe racer next time.

Not a pro rider, never a racer, not very technical savvy; just a plain old fashion speed freak and for sure someone who loves to ride. Love both 4 and 2 wheels.
