The Moto Morini brand makes its way back into Malaysia beginning in 2022 after MForce Bike Holdings (its official distributor here in the country) announced the arrival of the 2022 Moto Morini X-Cape 650 adventure-tourer. Two versions were launched yesterday – the base X-Cape 650 (on-road) and the more offroad-capable X-Cape 650 X.

Yesterday’s launch also announced the official prices for this modern-day Moto Morini starting from RM39,999 for the base model and RM43,999 for the X-Cape 650 X (prices excluding, insurance, road tax, and registration). MForce was able to get these exciting prices because the X-Cape models are locally-assembled right here in Malaysia.

If you’re interested in a very rugged-looking adventure-tourer with a huge dose of ‘rally-style, the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 comes with a lot of interesting specs for the price that it’s being offered. Starting with the powertrain, its 650cc inline-two DOHC engine produces 60hp @ 8,500rpm and 56Nm @ 7,000rpm and it’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

Other highlights of the bike include 50mm Marzocchi front forks (fully adjustable), rear KYB suspension, Bosch ABS 9.1 Dual Channel (switchable), Brembo brake package, 18-litre fuel tank, seven-inch TFT display, and a two-year manufacturer’s warranty (or 20,000km, whichever comes first).

The difference with the 650 X model is that it comes with spoked wheels (19-inch front, 17-inch rear), 835mm seat height (810mm for the base model), a set of crash bars, and an engine guard to withstand a more adventurous and aggressive riding style off the road.
