Just a few days ago, we posted a video that shows a man claiming he did 370 kph on the Penang Bridge and he completed the entire crossing in just 3 minutes 10 seconds.

On 17th April 2020, one rider slammed the claim by proving that one does not need 3 minutes 10 seconds to cross the bridge. He proved it by showing he could cross the bridge in 2 minutes 20 seconds with the top speed of 261 kph on a 2019 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636. However, the video which made him a proud rider eventually turned into evidence against him!

About 11 pm on 21st April 2020, IPD Timur Laut posted on Facebook that they rider was arrested in a raid lead by Head of Investigation and Traffic Enforcement of IPD Timur Laut, DSP Ridzuan Bin Ishak together with Inspector Abdul Sah bin Ibbah and the PG85 team and will be charged under Section 42 Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving. If charged, the rider may face jail time not exceeding five years and to a fine of not less than five thousand ringgit and not more than fifteen thousand ringgit and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years and to a fine of not less than ten thousand ringgit and not more than twenty thousand ringgit.

To make matters worst, at the time when the arrest was made, the rider is using a fake number plate!

As a rider, we understand that recording our attempt or even Sunday ride and post it on Facebook to garner likes gives one sense of achievement, but you never know when the video is going to bite you by becoming an evidence for insurance or worst the police.

Not a pro rider, never a racer, not very technical savvy; just a plain old fashion speed freak and for sure someone who loves to ride. Love both 4 and 2 wheels.
