Yamaha issued a recall that affects their MT-09 CKD models for a replacement of the Shift Shaft located in the engine. The shift level attached to the shaft may deform after high usage and as a result, the transmission will not shift properly.

Yamaha is already in the process of contacting owners of the affected model and owners would be able to send in the for the Shift Shaft replacement at their branches starting April 13th.

Yamaha, being a responsible organization took an advance precautionary step to replace the Shift Shaft although the issue is a non fatal issue.

If you have yet to receive the notification or unsure if you are affected, please contact Yamaha for further clarifications.
