CFMoto has been gaining a lot of traction, particularly this year when the Chinese bike manufacturer decided to take part in the MotoGP entry-level category, Moto3. As for the local market, CFMoto Malaysia is planning to stir things up with plans to launch its latest middleweight sports bike, the CFMoto 450SR.

Rumours have indicated that they might launch the CFMoto 450SR sometime in October, more specifically during the MotoGP weekend right here in Sepang. We’re also guessing that they might make a spectacle of it all by launching it with the two CFMoto Racing PrustelGP team riders for this season, Xavier Artigas and Carlos Tatay.

Carlos Tatay, in particular, managed to deliver CFMoto’s first-ever Moto3 podium last month during the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia. Going back to the bike, the CFMoto 450SR is said to be powered by a 450cc twin-cylinder engine that produces somewhere around the 50hp and 39Nm mark. Top speed is claimed at over 190km/h.

It’s also one of the only bikes within its category to feature a pair of MotoGP-inspired winglets, and CFMoto claims that they are indeed functional providing up to 2kg of additional downforce. This can be especially useful when powering the bike out of corner exits as well as providing added performance and stability during hard braking.

So far, only the Chinese market has been opened for booking with a price tag of CNÂ¥31,980 and which is around RM21,300 based on today’s currency exchange rates. The current SR model on offer here in Malaysia is the CFMoto 250SR launched back in 2020 with a price tag of RM15,800. Looking at those numbers, it’s possible that the incoming 450SR will be competitively priced as well.
