There are rumours in the paddock saying that Tom Sykes of Kawasaki Racing Team might be joining Ducati. The relationship between the reigning world champion Jonathan Rea and 2013 World Champion has not been very positive.

Sykes has always been the number one rider in Kawasaki Racing Team and rides for Kawasaki for several seasons now. In 2014, Sykes stood a strong chance to win the 2014 world championship title until his teammate Loris Baz knocked Sykes out of the race 1 at Sepang Turn 2.

Baz left the green team and Rea arrived, dethroning Sykes and beating him on track almost every single race, forcing Sykes into role of ‘second rider’.

Sykes claimed that Rea has constantly insulted him in the garage but what ticked Sykes off most is when Rea commented ‘Sykes is crazy.”

When asked, Sykes said, ““There are times in which there’s respect, and I am always civil and educated. But I only have to finish in front of him for him to get really angry and then he provokes me. But that’s ok, I’ll be a gentleman until the end but I won’t give him anything, not even a smile.”

“Right now I am in contact with Bologna, but if I were to move, I’d like to bring my crew chief Marcel Duinker, who I know well, he knows how I work and knows my method, we’re close and have won the title and races together.” Sykes added.

If the rumors are to be true, who will be out from Aruba IT Ducati team?

Not a pro rider, never a racer, not very technical savvy; just a plain old fashion speed freak and for sure someone who loves to ride. Love both 4 and 2 wheels.
